It was in a winter of a certain year that we got our first dachshund, Tob! Its arrival filled us with joy. As it quickly grew, its body became longer, just like its breed, making it difficult for us to find suitable clothes for it. Dachshunds have long bodies and short legs, making clothes designed for other dog breeds quite unsuitable for them. Often, their backs were left exposed due to the insufficient length of the clothes, or the sleeves were too long, preventing them from walking... This made us realize the market's need for clothes specifically designed for dachshunds, to provide for every family that owns a dachshund...
Starting to Design Dachshund-Specific Clothes
Yes, you guessed it—we decided to design and create clothing specifically for dachshunds. We started by studying the clothing of other dog breeds and significantly altered the structure. We lengthened the back and redesigned the wrapping methods around the chest and belly areas. We made multiple sizes to fit different dachshund body types, such as standard and mini dachshunds, and tested them on Tob and its friends. Fortunately, we received positive feedback, which bolstered our belief in starting a dachshund clothing brand.
Choosing the Right Fabrics
When it comes to the skin health of pets, we often overlook the problems that clothes can cause. After all, dogs can't speak, and even though they naturally have a layer of fur, their skin is actually more sensitive than human skin. Thus, they may react more strongly to chemical substances. Humans wearing clothes made from poor-quality fabrics can also experience skin allergies, swelling, and itching. Therefore, at Chang, when selecting fabrics for pet clothing, we prioritize those that are more natural and durable, high-quality materials, sparing no expense.
About Fashion
We don't believe that fashion or style is limited to human attire alone. For our little dogs, or rather, for another form of our family members, this important element is still necessary. Our aesthetics or ideas change every year, and so we bring each year's inspiration to life in that year's styles. We enjoy designing and creating; therefore, once a year's collection is sold out, it will not be reproduced or sold again.
Why are we named "Chang"?
Within the realm of Chinese script, the character “Chang” serves a dual role, symbolizing not just physical length but also connoting the duration of time. It is time itself that arbitrates the worth of an object’s existence. The fundamental aim of this design is to ensure its enduring, revered, and extended usage, encapsulating the essence of companionship as we comprehend it.
