Getting the right fit on a dachshund comes down to three measurements: back length, chest, and neck. Measure with a soft tape while your dog is standing.
- Back length — from the base of the neck (where a collar sits) to the base of the tail.
- Chest — around the deepest, widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
- Neck — around the base of the neck where a collar rests.
