1. It doesn't fit their body

Clothes built on a generic dog pattern ride up a dachshund's long back, bunch at the shoulders, or squeeze the deep chest. That pressure feels wrong, so the dog shuts down. A piece cut long in the back and shaped at the chest moves with them.

2. The fabric is stiff or scratchy

Dachshund skin is sensitive. A stiff, heavy, or scratchy fabric makes the whole thing feel like a cast. Soft, breathable, next-to-skin material changes everything.

3. A bad first experience

If the first piece was forced on over the head and pinched, your dog remembers. Reset with something soft and easy.
